homecoming

you razored
into the world
and I came too,
heavy as a bovine.
home-ridden
we sunk into bed
two quiet fragments:
me to sleep, you to feast.

at dawn your
brother clambered in,
snuck one arm around your
small middle and dozed;
I rose with the sun
and the swift love,
the hushed glow,
the untethered connection.
