the world jerked and
sent you flying, arms
pinned to your sides,
you tucked, rolled,
spun like a coin on its
edge and dropped,
inches from the nowhere drain
too large to fit anyway, the
yelling in your head always
taking up too much space,
now it's you in bed watching
your bones disintegrate
in a slow-burn timelapse fate,
dissecting your parts
through the shafts of light
clawing through your window,
watching the comedic relief
unfold, dark as it is but
oh so telling of the times.
